Operations |
Does 1/10,000 of an inch make a difference to you? It does to us!
The many fully automated robotic work cells used to produce the Maska product line, designed and programmed by the R&D department, produce the highest quality product available. The multiple quality control functions integrated ensure constant quality and specs to thousands of an inch.
One aspect is an infrared temperature compensation measuring system that determines the size and temperature of the sheave bore during the machining process, which then guides the final machining equipment to correct any slight errors, such as due to heat expansion, up to 1/10,000 of an inch precision.
CMM inspections are used on initial set-ups and custom parts to ensure infinitesimal quality control. |
The robotic manufacturing operations result in cost reductions due to an increased production rate, reduced lead times, greater process control and optimized floor space. |
There are several CNC machining centers for large parts up to 82" and 1900 lbs, which represent a fast-growing overall percentage of production. |
Additional adapted manufacturing operations include a fully automated paint line, using electrostatic paint, that is programmed for each part's size and shape, as well as specific packaging methods based on the part's size and weight to facilitate shipping and storage.
The use of thousands of gages and templates, coupled with frequent balancing checks, ensure that products meet with MPTA standards |
The Maska product line is renowned for its rigid, sturdy packaging and clearly identified part labels.
Kitting, or preassembly of parts, such as installing the bushing to a sheave bore, is available on volume orders.
Deep inventory is kept of all standard parts up to 71" and larger castings up to 82". |
